This is a bionic leg which works similar to the actions performed by a human to walk normally. When he thinks of moving his leg, an electrical signal from his brain flows to the target organ (Here to leg muscle) through the spinal code. As the amputation occurs, the nerve signal couldn't able to deliver the signal to the concerned muscle. To overcome this problem these nerve signal are redirected to the healthy tendon of the upper leg and detected with the help of electrodes placed there. There are special computer programs to decode the signals and interpret the thought of patient. There are also mechanical sensors including the accelerometer and gyroscope that collects the data and helps to control the movement of the patient. The error rate dropped drastically by incorporating these new electrodes along with the mechanical sensors. They are looking forward for making smaller, quieter , stronger and reduced error rate bionic legs.
